When I was doing research for Rural Renaissance, I was not at all surprised to learn that more and more people want to live in smaller towns. According to Gallup, nearly half of Americans across every age group prefer the country life. I am one of them, and maybe you are, too.

Enabling people to stay in their hometown or move to a small town, get a good job or start a business, build a life, and raise a family are among the promises of our clean energy futures. Clean, affordable, resilient energy and broadband networks — which are fundamental to operating a secure and modern grid — are part of what rural communities need to thrive.

Bottom line: clean energy jobs are rural jobs. At Groundswell, we practice what we preach, and we are hiring! Opportunities include multiple full-time positions with full benefits based in Georgia or Alabama, and those are just the roles we’re hiring right now. More jobs are coming, so if you like what we do, are interested in joining our team, and you live in or want to move to a rural community or small town in the Southeast, check out the opportunities at Groundswell and send us your resume! Building community power is joyful work.
